Here's how to get involved in the Bel Air Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council.

Election and selection information:
Elections will be held on June 2, 2019 for seats on the Bel Air-Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council. Seats filled by selection will be filled at our May 22, 2019 meeting.
The following seats will be elected by BABCNC stakeholders on June 2, 2019. Candidates are needed who have a substantial connection with each of the following stakeholder groups, which include residential districts (must live or own real property in district), non-residential stakeholder groups, and members-at-large.
Bel-Air District (2 seats)
Bel-Air Glen District (1 seat)
Franklin Canyon/Coldwater/Mulholland/Crest District (1 seat)
North of Sunset District (2 seat)
Public Educational Institutions (1 seat)
Commercial or Office Enterprise Districts (1 seat)
General Members-At-Large (2 seats)
Member-At-Large, Community Interest (1 seat), non-exclusive
Youth-At-Large (25 years old or less) (1 seat)

Candidates must be stakeholders in the specified area and must be at least 18 years of age. A candidate can only declare their candidacy for only one board seat per election cycle.
Who can vote?
Voters can be residential or non-residential stakeholders and must be at least 18 years of age.

CANDIDATE REGISTRATION OPENS FEBRUARY 17TH.
Candidates are needed who have a substantial connection with each of the stakeholder groups and who wish to represent those groups on the Board.
A community meet and greet for all candidates will be held on April 24, 2019 at 7 pm at the American Jewish University.
The first group of seats is selected by the Board on May 22, 2019 and represent non-residential Stakeholder Groups. The identified stakeholder groups are:
Custodians of Open Space (1 seat)
Private Schools Grades K-6 (1 seat)
Private Schools Grades 7-12 (1 seat)
Faith-based Institutions (1 seat)
Qualifications to Run for a Selected Seat
The Bylaws of the Bel Air-Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council provide that qualified candidates must be at least 18 years of age on the date of the Selection and have a substantial connection to the entity or institution whose interests are represented by the particular selected seat. Substantial connection is a subjective standard that will be determined on a case-by-case basis. However, the following examples should be a guide to provide further insight as to what constitutes a "substantial connection."
Candidates should know the successful candidate will be determined by a vote of the current Board of the Bel Air-Beverly Crest Neighborhood Council present on the evening of the Selection, May 22, 2019, immediately following a town hall style meeting where each candidate will have the opportunity to present their qualifications and reasons for selection by the Board of the Council.
