At our August meeting the Board approved a letter of input to the Los Angeles City Council Redistricting Commission that explored the possibilities of how the BABCNC territory would be divided in the event it would continue to be represented by two Council Districts. Should BABCNC continue to be represented by two Council Districts, then Coldwater Canyon, Bowmont Drive, Hazen Drive, and Briarcrest Drive should be kept with the western portion of the territory (CD 5). This line is also used by the police department to separate its service areas. This letter pertains to how the BABCNC territory would be represented in the redistricting, based on the input of representatives from across this area. All communities are encouraged to review the redistricting maps at https://laccrc2021.org/ and submit comments pertaining to their local areas to the commission as well.
The figure above illustrates an example of the BABCNC preferred allocation of its territory in the event that BABCNC continues to be represented by two Councilmembers. It is not a preliminary map produced by the Redistricting Commission.
