Travis Longcore

Dr. Travis Longcore is a long-time resident and dedicated public servant who brings deep experience in land use, environmental review, and community engagement to his role representing Custodians of Open Space on the BABCNC Board. He holds a Ph.D. in Geography from UCLA and currently serves as Senior Associate Director and Adjunct Professor at the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability.

With over 25 years of experience working with local governments, regional agencies, and community organizations, Dr. Longcore is known for his practical, data-informed approach and his commitment to transparent, respectful decision-making. He has collaborated on issues ranging from wildfire resilience to open space access and infrastructure planning, always with a focus on harmonizing community values and long-term sustainability.

Travis values inclusive public process and believes strongly in listening to diverse perspectives. His leadership is grounded in civic responsibility, thoughtful deliberation, and a belief that neighborhoods are strongest when residents work together to shape a livable, safe, and thriving future.
