Kristie Halsey (Holmes)

KRISTIE HALSEY (HOLMES), PhD, LCSW

Kristie specializes in global health, media impact, and technology's effects on relationships and communities. She has spent significant time working on projects related to international sustainable development initiatives.

Kristie was part of the core team that developed the Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) with the RAND Corporation, a widely-used evidence-based intervention now implemented across the world for helping students cope with trauma and violence exposure. She served as a professor for 12 years (University of Southern California).

She has worked internationally on policy initiatives and currently provides consulting services for youth development programs.

As a Disaster Mental Health specialist with the American Red Cross, Kristie has deployed during natural disasters including the Maui fires and continual flooding in Texas, and currently serves as a team lead. In response to the recent LA fires, she is actively working to help K-12 public schools and the broader community recover from trauma and disruption.

Kristie maintains a private practice specializing in mental health services and continues her commitment to community service through various local and international initiatives.
